Taylor Alison Swift is an American artist and performer. She was born on December 13 1989. Her discography is a mix of genres, and her songwriting--often driven by her own personal experience--has received critical praise and wide media coverage. Swift was born in West Reading (PA) and moved to Nashville as a teenager to pursue a career as an artist in the world of country music. Swift signed a songwriting contract with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and a recording contract with Big Machine Records in 2004. Swift's debut album was her first U.S. platinum-certified country album. It was self-titled. Swift's next albums, Fearless (2008), and Speak Now (2010), focused on country pop. The first album's "Love Story" and "You Are My Friend" were among the first country songs to be included on the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts. She experimented with rock and electronic styles on Red (2012) the album that included her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one song, "We Are Never Ever Coming Back Together" and eschews her usual image in her synth-pop album 1989 (2014) which was accompanied by chart-topping songs "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood". Reputation (2017) was released in 2017 and its top-charting track "Look What You Did to Me" Me Do", was the result of the media's examination. Following the departure of Big Machine, Swift signed with Republic Records in 2018 and released her seventh studio album, Lover (2019), that was immediately followed by her autobiographical document Miss Americana (2020). In her albums of 2020 Folklore and Red, Swift delved into the genres of alternative and indie rock. Swift's singles "Cardigan", Willow, and "Willow" made it to the top of the Hot 100. After a dispute over her masters Swift began to re-record six albums. In 2021, Swift released Red and Fearless (Taylor’s Version). "All Too Well (10-minute version)" was the longest track to make it into the top 100 of the charts. Midnights, her 2022 album and the lead track "Anti-Hero", have established new records for streaming music that have stood the test of time. Swift was also an entrepreneur of music video and film like All Too Well and The Short Film (2021), and has played in supporting roles. With more than 200 million albums sold globally, Swift is one of the most successful musicians of all time. Swift is the most rated female artist on Spotify. Swift is the only artist with five albums that have sold more than 1 million copies in the US. Swift has won twelve Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year and an Emmy Award. She also was awarded 40 American Music Awards and 29 Billboard Music Awards. She also holds the record for 92 Guinness World Records. Swift is featured in a variety of prominent rankings, including the Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songswriters of All Time and Billboard's Greatest of All Time Artists. In addition, she has been awarded titles like Artist of the Decade and Woman of the Decade, Swift is an advocate for artists' rights and women's empowerment.
