Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars. She was an artist who could successfully cross the divide between country and pop and conquer the world. Swift left her country roots as if they were just a second skin, revealing she was perhaps the savviest popular singer/songwriter in her generation one who could harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and equally impressively do in the opposite direction. Swift's early hits, especially her neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off the talents of her. However, her album Fearless showcased a writer who was discovering herself and was able to draw a wide audience. Fearless became a massive success not just in America and six of the singles have been declared platinum, on top of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also performed well around the globe. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this popularity and pushed Swift into the stratosphere of stardom. In the following three years, Swift's popularity was growing through the years -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as she entered a new arena of pop with her skills already well-established. She was on top of the charts even after she changed her signature style in her twin albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
